Day 34: Saturday 3/28

READ: James 4:7-10 (revisit)

Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will run away from you. Come near to God, and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners. Purify your hearts, you double-minded. Cry out in sorrow, mourn, and weep! Let your laughter become mourning and your joy become sadness. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

REFLECT 

Submit to God, resist the devil. This is the double movement of faithful living under empire. Submit to God means refuse Caesar's authority. Resist the devil means name empire's powers and say no. Grieve your complicity — not generic sin, but specific ways you've bought into systems of death. Humble yourself, knowing God will lift you up. Tomorrow we enter Holy Week. This is our posture.
