Those who stand firm during testing are blessed. They are tried and true. They will receive the life God has promised to those who love him as their reward.

REFLECT 

The crown of life. This is what's promised to those who persevere. Not to those who avoid trials, but to those who endure them with faith. This isn't prosperity gospel — it's resurrection gospel. Through suffering to glory. Through trial to triumph. Through the cross to the crown. We're preparing for Holy Week, where we'll see what enduring faith looks like in Jesus.

RESPOND 

What trial are you enduring because of commitment to the loving way of Jesus? Hold onto the promise: the crown of life awaits.

God who promises the crown of life, strengthen us to persevere in love. Amen.
